Nitin Barve
Nitin has more than 25 years of experience in the investment management industry. He currently leads the Portfolio Analysis, Advice Tools and Policies team within Schwab Center for Financial Research. His expertise includes asset classification, benchmarking, portfolio analytics, modern portfolio theory and behavior finance, and risk management.
Prior to joining Schwab in 2011, he founded and ran a boutique consulting firm, leading more than 100 client engagements and helping more than 75 asset-management firms across the world in the investment research, product development, and derivative trading domains. In his early career, Nitin worked at Citibank's Private Banking group in Luxembourg and India, and with a derivative brokerage firm in San Francisco.
He is a CFA® charter holder and holds a MS in Control Systems from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai. He currently is an adjunct professor at Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, and has taught several courses at Saint Mary’s College and for the CFA Exam Prep Program at CFA San Francisco.
