Coverage Covers hospital stays and inpatient care (Part A), preventive and outpatient care (Part B), most out-of-pocket costs from Parts A and B (Medigap), and prescription drugs (Part D). Covers all services provided by Original Medicare. Typically includes prescription drugs (Part D). May also offer routine dental, hearing, vision, and even wellness benefits.
Network Original Medicare is accepted in all 50 states and by most providers. Medigap is accepted by any provider that also accepts Medicare and doesn't generally require a referral to see a specialist. Part D plans are limited to in-network pharmacies. Generally limited to in-network plan providers, facilities, and pharmacies. Out-of-network services may cost more. Specialist referrals may be required.
