Many investors like to have an idea of how much income they receive from investments as well as estimate how much they might receive in the coming year. Using the Investment Income Summary on schwab.com, investors can see how much income they have received as well as estimate how much they might expect in the future. Investment Income displays basic information about income from investments in your retirement portfolio. A summary of investment income over the next 12 months is the default. However, it's possible to see the total estimated amount, along with the monthly average income. The estimate shows interest and dividends as two different types of investment income.

Under the summary of estimated investment income is a bar chart that displays estimated income by month (see image below). It's possible to adjust the view of the chart to show the previous year's received investment income as well as estimated income for the current year rather than estimated income for the next 12 months.

In addition to the summary, investors can see the accounts included in the estimate. All accounts including retirement, managed, and uncategorized accounts are listed. It's possible to see whether they're charitable gift accounts, brokerage accounts, managed, or have other characteristics. Account balances are included for each account, so investors can see how much money they have available.

Finally, Income Investment includes a summary of individual equity positions, fund totals, fixed income, and cash. Investors can view how much income they received from each position the previous year as well as the estimated income from each position in the current year.
